Job Overview
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for consideration to fill an open Project Manager - Distribution position in our Program Management Services Division. This position will be located at our Client’s Binghamton, NY office.
 
The Program Management Services Division at LaBella provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs. Project teams are established to provide a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services. 
The Project Manager will provide focus on our client's Electrical Distribution systems projects. This position will work closely with construction and design staff to develop plans, specifications and construction work orders to support the installation of distribution equipment. This resource will work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams initiating, planning, executing and closing of assigned projects.
Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop plans for the execution of distribution line facilities
• Create Pay ID sheets and submit for contractor approval
• Monitor and control project process
• Monitor and control internal and contractor construction activities
• Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
• Delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
• Identify and manage potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
• Assist in the definition of project scope and goals
• Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to proceed with project goals
• Serve as a single point of contact for teams when multiple resources are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in sync
• Communicate with AVG leadership to keep the project aligned with their goals
• Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
• Adjust schedules and targets on the project as needed
• Motivate people involved in the project to complete tasks on time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of technical and project management experience in energy sector
• PMP preferred, or able to achieve within 12 months of assignment.
• Knowledge of utility telecommunications and/or previous work experience in the telecommunications industry.
