As the lead program manager for AUV Systems, this person brings broad program and business experience to lead the expanding autonomous undersea vehicle business line. Leveraging personal expertise and collaboration with functional managers, this individual will put processes in place to drive program performance and profitability. Drawing on personal experience the individual will mentor subordinate program managers to continually improve the performance of the overall organization. Engages directly with the AUV System's customer base to craft offering and provide desired support. Works against annual goals to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization. Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies. Recommends tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.
- Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Drives program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs. Responsible for implementing and managing EVMS systems to control and measure the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
- Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
- Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Communicates engineering requirements and tracks the financial and schedule performance of design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Expands the product line with the customer.
- Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Directs the work of employees assigned to their portfolio of programs from technical, testing, manufacturing and administrative areas.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Ability to travel 40% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Secret Clearance
- Requires proven management and leadership skills.
- Significant experience successfully leading complex industry programs for the US Government and military customers with responsibility for EVMS implementation and execution.
- Typically has comprehensive experience meeting Department of Defense requirements and processes
- Typically has comprehensive knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline and may have broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years prior related experience.
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience is desired.
