L2 Defense is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join our collaborative culture and provide crucial support to our Military Services Department. From our headquarters in Middle River, MD, under the supervision of the Sr. ILS Manager, the Hardware Engineer will support the company in its development, assessment, and manufacture of equipment systems for military end users. The Hardware Engineer will assist the engineering and logistics teams in developing electro-mechanical systems to meet requirements, analyzing, and improving systems for supportability and reliability performance, documenting, and controlling system configurations, and developing processes and procedures for improved system maintenance and sustainment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
In coordination with the Sr. ILS Manager, the Hardware Engineer will undertake the following:
• Details the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, automation, mechanical and instrumentation of equipment
• Creates maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
• Conducts tests and assessments of new systems and repair procedures to ensure quality
• Communicates estimated timelines for repairs
• Design or assist in the layout design process, identification of parts and equipment for programs
• Creates data and documentation to be used in the creation of Technical Manuals
• Performing analyses of evolving systems to include concept, design, fabrication, test, integration, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
• Creates visual aids as needed
• Maintain effective working relationship with colleagues and customers to ensure that our corporate values are central to all engagement
• Provide sound guidance to Staff, and Management
Requirements:
• Knowledge and Skills
o Proven ability to assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain mechanical parts.
o Deep understanding and ability to read CAD Drawings, schematics, manuals, OEM specifications, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
o Experience with CAD/CAM software a plus
o Proven ability to perform Quality Assurance checks of all deliverables.
o Effective writing and verbal presentation skills
o Skilled at problem identification, analysis, and resolution
o Demonstrates high emotional maturity.
o Demonstrates excellent sense of discretion.
• Minimum Qualifications
o Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required. A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial engineering is preferred but other engineering disciplines will be considered.
o Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
o Team oriented with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Salary and Benefits
• Annual salary $55,000- $67,000; based on years of experience and demonstrated skill
• Competitive benefits package inclusive of Health, Dental, Vision, and 401k
Office Location and Schedule:
• Primary office location will be at 12 Irondale Street, Middle River, MD 21220
• This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum of 8 hours of work per workday at the primary office location
• Very limited travel required
