What we are Looking for

We are looking for a detailed problem-solver to join our strong Accounting team! Our current team of three report to our CFO. The L&M Accounting/Finance team is focused on process improvement, accuracy, and are collaborative and supportive of one another.

The ideal candidate must have a passion for problem solving, process improvement and financial analysis. A strong understanding of GAAP, accountability, a strong work ethic, and a desire to bring positive energy into the office each day.

Primary Responsibilities

• Examine and analyze financial records and transactions in accordance with accounting principles and business procedures and identify areas for improvement
• Be integral in the review of the month-end close process – performing key account reconciliations (inventory, accruals, others as assigned), seeking continuous process improvement
• Analyze and describe financial performance through variance analysis, telling the story of the month, not just reporting the variances.
• Investigate transactions that hit the G/L – you will own figuring out the root case and working with the team if a solution or process change is needed
• Leads monthly budget reviews, preparation of budget and analysis of on-going spend
• Collaborate cross-functionally to establish best practices, and process improvement
• Lead forward thinking projects and ad hoc reports – you will be able to create these and make them your own
• Track, review, and reconcile inventory
• Lead the year-end audit process

Education, Experience, and Attributes

• Detailed-oriented with the objective of consistently delivering high quality work product, while maintaining an understanding of the bigger picture
• A data driven, forward thinking mindset with the ability to make connections, carry forward what you have learned, and identify or anticipate potential challenges before they arise
• Desire to learn, grow and lead
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while staying organized
• 4 years of experience in a Finance or Accounting environment
• Degree in Accounting/Finance
• Inventory experience a plus
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost control principles, A/P, and A/R
