The Company’s headquarters are in Dallas, TX, with offices in Amersfoort, Netherlands; Norton, Ohio; Toronto, Ontario; Johannesburg, South Africa and Tianjin, China. Job Advertisement: The Accountant supports financial operations of the Company providing focus on general ledger accounting, financial reporting, with other important financial/accounting responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare cost accounting records, reconciliations, and reporting, including analysis of cost of goods, inventory, work-in- process, and revenue
- Calculate percent complete revenues and reconcile earnings/billings, deferred revenue, and deferred costs
- Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation and provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions
- Complete bank account reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations, including prepaids and intercompany
- Perform timely month-end accounting closing activities and reconciliations
- Payroll reconciliation and review, and filings, as needed
- VAT, GST and Sales and Use tax filings and reconciliations
- Assist various departments in accounting issues and queries
- Support in audit requests as needed
- Adhere to standard accounting principles and company procedures
- Perform accounting analyses and reporting to support decision-making purposes
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned; assists department with day-to-day tasks and special projects
- Follow our company’s established accounting processes; protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience
- Experience supporting multiple business units, with foreign experience a plus
- Experience in a start-up entity or similar dynamic environment
- Highly adaptable to change and demonstrated success in ambiguous atmosphere
- Strong understanding of the general ledger and various standard entries, including deferred revenue and costs
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Experience developing processes and ability to implement and adapt to new procedures
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, or demonstrated ability to understand cost accounting basics including cost of goods sold, work in process, and inventory
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Must be able to do pivots and VLOOKUP functions.
- Knowledge of ERP system required, NetSuite experience highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of employees throughout all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently
- Sound understanding of accounting principles
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, with ability to propose resolutions to problems
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
