Overview

Provides advanced support to more senior research personnel at the direction of their supervisor and other senior scientists. This position assists in developing data required for new products either through utilization of process simulation equipment, benchtop studies, field studies, or formulation work with an emphasis on scientific aspects of the research. The individual in this position will also assist the senior researchers in literature and patent searches. The Associate Research Scientist will work with senior personnel in providing data and as a co-author of technical papers and publications.

Responsibilities

• Generates data on new and existing products using process simulation equipment or benchtop studies.
• Works on product formulation and stability issues.
• Compiles generated data and provides reports to the research team.
• Provides technical support to field related product or results issues.
• Will be the primary in-field support to the R and D Scientists for field trials.
• Assists the research scientists with authoring technical presentations.
• Provides data and assists in authoring SDS for new products.
• Ability to design or modify basic research and support projects.
• Performance of other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related sciences with a minimum of 3 years laboratory experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Understands basic experimental design concepts with the ability to communicate results.
• Strong desire to learn about the industries Kurita America serves.
• Proficiency in report writing with good communication skills a must.

Physical and mental requirements needed for this position: Required to sit for extended periods of time.
