Kubota is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager Near Edgerton, KS

BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION Responsible to implement systematic processes to find and eliminate waste and improve profitability and customer service. The initial focus of the position will be focused the NADC Parts facility, but will eventually expand to the entire Parts network. The position will suggest and lead proactive exploration, development, implementation, and execution of new and improved concepts, processes and practices in all areas of the operation. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines: Learn and then Teach the 5-Gen Principle to operations leadership including Supervisors, Team Leads on down. Utilize 5-Gen tools to narrow the gap between Actual and Ideal Condition. Learn and then Teach operations management including Supervisors and Leads how to organize, standardize, and create rules to follow at work location. The ultimate goal should be to enable Supervisor and Leads to own and conduct such activities as part of their daily responsibility. Trying to make processes/flow improvements before you standardize the current condition will result in expensive mess. Standardization and shop floor management must come first. Even if the processes and flows are poor, making the standard and following the current condition's rules must be done first. Teach how to document standard work for all areas. Maintain standard work repository for all work instructions. Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures and metrics are in place and maintained for key activities of the operation. Design, post and promote Supervisor key measure boards, SQCD. Implement layered audits to assure standard work is followed and updated. Promote culture of continuous improvement though projects and team building. Challenge Supervisors to always have Kaizen projects ongoing, track projects, and schedule weekly updates/report outs. Manage the Continuous Improvement Team Coordinate IT changes and prioritization Actively lead Industrial/Facility Engineer projects including developing parts warehouse layout concepts, optimizing space utilization, work efficiency, and packaging. Assist with the layout and automation of new facilities, or with alterations or modifications to existing facilities. Propose capital projects, create project budgets, and manage projects. Other duties as assigned by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or a closely related technical field preferred. At least 5 years’ experience working in a high-volume distribution center with extensive knowledge in Warehousing and Logistics, Inventory Management, RF Systems, Material Handling Equipment, Transportation, housekeeping and all pertinent warehouse safety related operating policies and procedures. Lean Six Sigma or TPS or similar experience and certification, Blackbelt preferred Project Management experience, certification preferred Proven track record of implementing process changes that result in operational savings Change Management methodology Computer skills required, to include Microsoft office experience and warehouse management systems experience (SAP-EWM & WM) ERP experience (SAP-ECC, SAP-S4) and other business solutions. High proficiency with and ability to create, interpret and analyze data and reports, spreadsheets, tables, charts and other various performance tracking mechanisms. This position requires an analytical, detail oriented, and self-motivated individual with strong leadership qualities. EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service): Thorough understanding of material handling equipment (Reach Trucks, Order Selectors, Forklifts, etc.) and related operational and safety requirements. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Typical Distribution Warehouse work environment.
