Position Summary:
Assist in supervising a staff of facilities maintenance technicians who perform maintenance services, implement preventive maintenance programs and perform energy maintenance repairs for retail stores and company facilities, buildings and grounds. Essential Job Functions:
- Perform all functions and duties of the maintenance role with direct guidance and oversight from the maintenance manager.
- Assist in managing maintenance budgets, service levels and repair effectiveness.
- Partner with the maintenance manager to provide oversight for company and EPA regulations associated with refrigerant usage and manage to ensure compliance.
- Identify the training and training resources needed for technician staff to comply with EPA, OSHA, and company standards.
- Assist in developing and executing the division’s equipment break/fix maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.
- Manage third-party contracted maintenance service as directed.
- Reduce energy costs by incorporating best practices into maintenance technicians’ daily activities.
- Take immediate action with appropriate technician(s) regarding potential refrigerant usage issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Ensure maintenance software best practices are being utilized to drive efficiencies.
- Support construction and minor capital teams with project scoping, design criteria and quality control.
- Coach maintenance technicians to follow Facility Engineering’s safety standards and training by providing support to the safety coordinator’s directives.
- Manage company best practices for inventory management in the maintenance facility and service vehicles.
- Travel to division locations regularly to engage staff and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and day to day maintenance operations.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years’ proven management experience within a maintenance organization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- EPA Type 2 Certification
Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:
- Senior Technician
- Refrigeration/HVAC maintenance experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings and manuals
