Position: DevOps Engineer
Clearance: Public Trust or equivalent
FT/PT Status: Full-Time Employment
Location: Remote
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
Responsibilities:
• Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as GIT and SVN.
• Support Jenkins CI/CD pipelines & Code analysis tools such as Sonar Cube, Fortify
• Facilitate configuration and change management of all servers (physical and virtual), software, hosting services, and network elements.
• Implement & maintain Configuration Management processes, standards, configuration items (CIs) that are to be controlled.
• Manage tracking, logging, categorizing, maintaining, and version control of configuration items.
• Facilitate release planning meetings with key stakeholders to identify proper sequencing of release packages. Ensure the issues and risks are identified, understood, and dealt with in a manner that mitigates risk to scope and schedule.
• Support release execution by monitoring of each phase of the release. Validate the release as it progresses through various release gates and test phases, alert appropriate stakeholders of any errors or issues that need to be addressed.
• Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.
Education/Skills/ Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• 2 years’ experience in a DevOps Engineer role (or similar role); experience in software development and infrastructure development is a plus.
• DevOps Experience in AWS Cloud environment – Support & Maintain Infrastructure as code using Lambda, AWS CloudFormation, and Puppet
• Experience using Version control management/various Source control tools like SVN, Git, Gitlab and Github
• Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration, and AWS.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP, Groovy, Bash.
• Experience with workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, Confluence, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.
• Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Experience in working with Puppet or Chef for automation and configuration.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes
• Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
• Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed.
• Production Operations experience utilizing TWS, New Relic, Splunk and AWS CloudWatch is preferred.
