What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Developer position at Kratos Defense?
This position requires experience with DoD materiel test, acquisition, operations, fielding, training, and systems integration for a Mission Command (Command and Control) Systems. The position will support an Army Project Office’s Logistics Directorate in the development of training material related to life cycle and acquisition logistics IAW DoD 5000.02. The candidate must have experience and capability to review and develop training material utilizing TRADOC guidance and assist in the management of soldier and DOD civilian training, including training schedule development. The candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of life cycle logistics and the 12 Integrated Product Support Elements defined in AR 700-127. The candidate must be familiar with Army equipment such as tactical radios, tactical computers, and power generators. The Training Developer must work with a broad range of team members to include Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), engineers, graphics specialists, photographers, and customers. The position requires good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Strong technical writing skills are mandatory.
CONUS travel will be required in support of this position. OCONUS travel may be required in the future.
Experience and Skills:
- Must be a US Citizen and have an active U. S. Security Clearance at the Secret level
- Years of Experience; Must have a minimum of:
- Five (5) years of experience performing training development related activities
- Three (3) years of experience developing and designing full-length, skill-based instructional training material including Programs of Instruction (POI), Individual Training Plans (ITP), Exams, Military Training Standards (MTS), and Training Support Packages (TSP), and
- One (1) year experience related to software intensive systems
- Must have demonstrated experience developing, editing, and writing training material IAW AR350-1 and TRADOC Reg. 350-70
- Experience utilizing a training development database
- Experience in fielding and integration training at the user or staff level. Position requires knowledge of acquisition logistics and collaboration across the project office
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A record of being a self-starter and a team player in a small team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree required, a Master’s Degree preferred
- Candidate must have excellent communication skill and experience working with both combat developers and end users
- DAU Acquisition Logistics Level 1 Certification is preferred
