Description

Job Summary

Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is growing! A well-established and leading law firm with offices in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin specializing in the representation of condominium and homeowner associations is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate Attorney with 3 years of experience. Qualified candidates must be licensed in Indiana and possess litigation experience. Mediation and arbitration experience preferred. 

Must be able to independently handle court appearances, trials, depositions, and drafting of litigation pleadings. Knowledge of the Indiana Homeowners Association Act and/or the Indiana Condominium Act preferred, but not required. Knowledge and/or experience with Landlord Tenant law preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal). Must be comfortable working independently yet be a team player.

Business hours for this exempt position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The starting salary for this role is $80,000, contingent upon level of experience. KSN offers a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, basic life/AD & D coverage, voluntary life insurance, critical illness, accident, hospital, and a retirement plan for those who are eligible .

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities

· Strong knowledge of Indiana trial court rules and procedure.

· Court appearances on behalf of clients in courts throughout Central Indiana 

· Experience with general civil litigation, including drafting pleadings and briefs, drafting, and responding to written discovery, conducting depositions.

· Ability to effectively communicate with and provide regular litigation status updates to clients.

· Ability to advise clients on all aspects of litigation procedure, including settlement.

· Travel throughout the Indianapolis metro area required.

· Work with multiple clients.

· Any other duties as necessary or required.
