ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Responsibilities

Staff supervision

  • Supervise Accounts Payable Lead and team
  • Direct, train, and evaluate accounts payable and job cost data entry personneAccounts Payable function
  • Ensure external and internal inquiries and questions are researched and resolved
  • Supervise and be a resource for AP Lead for TimberScan (Electronic Invoice routing system), workflow and system administration
  • Supervise  and be a resource for AP Lead with Vendor management and compliance
  • Manage 1099 preparation annually
  • Ensure note payments and income taxes are paid timely
  • Alternate to AP Lead for check runs ensuring disbursements are processed in accordance with accounting practices and company policies
  • Manage corporate credit cards by supervising AP Lead and team
  • Manage escheat filing and remittance annually by supervising AP Lead and team
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of franchise and income tax payments for entitiesJob Cost, Fixed Assets, Debt Obligations, Treasury, and Accounting Responsibilities
  • Primary accounting contact with construction department to research and resolve errors and issues in job cost
  • Ensure accurate percentage of completion calculations
  • Ensure invoices are submitted timely and follow up on collections
  • Ensure construction jobs are set up and closed timely and accurately
  • Ensure equipment and project manager allocations are entered timely and accurately
  • Review and approve Fixed Asset, Predevelopment cost, and CIP reconciliations
  • Oversee the treasury compliance, monitoring of banking fraud, and set up new bank accounts
  • Oversee setting up drafts for notes payable as well as recording transactions and monthly reconciliation
  • Oversee escrow and new construction loan draws and escrow reimbursement requests
  • Management of real estate tax accrual and annual payment of real estate taxes
  • Monthly reporting of job cost and loan draw sources and uses
  • Budgeting and forecasting for debt and real estate taxes
  • Month end reconciliation responsibilities
  • Analyze existing processes and system making recommendations for improvement

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage AP Lead with front desk coverage, filing and file storage for accounting department
  • Oversee various other administrative responsibilities as necessaryQUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum of five years of accounts payable experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • 1099 filing experience
  • Sales and use tax knowledge and experience
  • Sage 300CRE / Timberline and job cost experience preferred
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Positive attitude
