KOPPERS is Hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist Near Pittsburgh, PA

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer the full-lifecycle recruiting process including: management of internal and external job postings; reviewing resumes; phone screening applicants; Koppers Rooney Rule application; interviewing and extending offers to select candidates; recommending qualified candidates to hiring managers; recommending initial salary to management; negotiating with candidates.
  • Advise hiring teams on policies, procedures, compliance requirements, diversity strategies and interview techniques. Provide training to hiring managers and their teams as needed.
  • Establish and develop relationships with HBCU's, colleges, universities, trade schools and other organizations to drive recruiting efforts which support our diverse talent needs and our corporate values.
  • Work closely with the Talent Coordinator to ensure a smooth transition to post-offer activities.
  • Maintain all applicant tracking activities in Applicant Tracking System (Workday) for salaried positions.
  • Conduct full-lifecycle recruiting for the Koppers Internship Program.
  • Be a resource to all employees as a Culture and Engagement point of contact to either offer support, answer questions, or make connection with appropriate Culture and Engagement representative.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Human Resources or a related discipline required; HR certification or advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years recruiting experience required; recruiting experience for a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Human Resources Generalist experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Workday platform preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter who does not require constant supervision.
  • Strong organizational and multiple tasking skills.
  • Ability to practice and maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and empathetically.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Strong service orientation, social perceptiveness and active listening skills.
  • Demonstrates strong planning skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with employees on all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
