Koniku is Hiring a Research Associate I-II Near San Rafael, CA

Job Summary

Koniku offers multiple opportunities for lab technicians. Essential to our teams, lab technicians span the biotechnology, research and development, and product operations departments assisting scientists with experiments. This involves work with complex systems supporting scientific processes and projects, recording the results appropriately, and developing procedures for scale. 

There are currently two positions open for this role.

Why it Matters

The technologies and architecture Koniku is developing represents significant technical advances for the field in general. We are of the view that science advances are possible with great instrumentation & technology resulting in reliable and reproducible data.

You will play a critical role in helping us create precise, reliable and reproducible data through a combination of technical lab-based instrumentation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mammalian cell culture maintenance and experiments.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment in the laboratory for performance of duties.
  • Perform day-to-day routine equipment maintenance, schedule calibration/preventative maintenance, organize lab operation processes, and support general lab activities.
  • Perform experiments using manual and automation equipment.
  • Record all data and results in specified forms.
  • Troubleshoot and document technical issues during execution in collaboration with members of the scientific and biotechnology teams.
  • Create consumable kits needed for different processes.
  • Display a high-level of customer service to ensure the scientists and engineers have a positive and productive experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or relevant laboratory experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of prior experience in biological or chemical laboratory required.
  • Understanding of common molecular and cell biology methods.
  • Hands on experiences with molecular biology techniques and cell culture are preferred.
  • Must possess excellent attention to detail, be organized and can maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes.
  • Self-motivated and have excellent organization, communication, and computer skills such as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software.
  • Ability to operate and care for laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory management and safety procedures.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality.
  • Ability to work as part of a team within a highly collaborative environment.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic start-up environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
