Knox Area Rescue Ministries is Hiring a Berea Work Lead - Full Time Near Knoxville, TN
The Berea work lead ensures the effective integration of Berea residents into KARM’s day-to-day operations for the purposes of impactful hands-on job training. Is responsible for creating a positive learning environment both while working and in the classroom. The Berea work lead is responsible for training work leads on the evaluation process and the tracking of residents’ soft skill progression. The position is responsible for working with residents to ensure skills leading to employment are taught, coached, and implemented throughout the duration of the program.
Requirements
Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith; spiritually mature
Proven training abilities; excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong ability to work and communicate across multiple departments
Training
Coordinates with Food Service and Facilities team to ensure core competencies are reinforced on the job
Provides hands-on teaching while working with students to accomplish daily tasks
Makes sure all resident work evaluations are accurate and up to date
Makes sure all resident time tracking is accurate and up to date
Works with residents on interviewing skills, job preparation, and resume building
Maintains open channels of communication with program staff to identify student needs and abilities
Provides class room teaching on job skill related topics
Demonstrated ability to establish respectful relationships with students, co-workers, and volunteers
Helps residents with job applications and getting interview/work attire
Ability to show mercy, be hospitable, and an example of servant leadership; working knowledge of appropriate boundaries
Basic computer skills and ability to use MS Office products (specifically Word and Excel)
Ability to give direction to others; high degree of flexibility and resourcefulness; team player
All other assigned duties
Working Conditions
Ministry campus facility where emergency rescue services are provided
Exposure to stressful student situations requiring discernment
Walking, standing, sitting, bending and lifting up to 30 pounds required
Some travel required between KARM facilities and within the community
Occasional required attendance at KARM meetings or special events, sometimes during evening hours
