Description

Purpose:

The Precast Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for providing on-going support to the Plant Manager to ensure the safe, productive, and efficient operations of the precast concrete plant.

Essential Functions:

• Provide on-going assistance to Plant Manager to ensure consistent, efficient and accurate production of plant, to include:

1.  Checking of production drawings to determine needs for the day, paying close attention to any urgent needs.
2.  Addressing of production issues as needed.
3.  Working with employees to keep production flowing efficiently.
4.  Coordination of production with shipping schedule for all specialty structures.
5.  Assist in the completion of inventory of all resale items needed weekly. 
6.  Assist in the completion of inventory of Inventory consignment casting & ring and covers for USF.
7.  Assist and ensure a final check and documentation of every Precast load prior to being shipped. Ensuring all pieces are on the load and documenting what, if anything, is missing and why.
8.  Communicating Redi-Mix needs to dispatch in a timely manner to provide constant, regular communication.

• Provide on-going assistance to Plant Manager in order to effectively manage all on-site staff.

1.  Provide input to Plant Manager when evaluating employee work performance; provide feedback and direction regularly and as needed.
2.  Refer employee issues to Plant Manager in a prompt and professional manner; address with employees in the absence of the Plant Manager.
3.  Coordinate and approve PTO for all employees as needed in the absence of the Plant Manager.

•  Provide leadership to all plant staff.
•  Regularly review plant inventory and report shortages or additional needs to Plant Manager in a timely, accurate manner.
•  Assist Plant Manager with monthly inventory and submit to General Manager.
•  Ensure that shop and production yard remain organized and in order.
•  Assist Plant Manager with overhead crane daily inspections. Report issues to Plant Manager for resolution.
•  Ensure all product is patched or repaired as quickly as possible whenever needed.
•  Assist Plant Manager with the completion of annual inspections on overhead cranes and records maintenance.
•  Notify Plant Manager of issues with equipment as they arise.
•  Assist Plant Manager with the coordination of maintenance and schedules repairs as needed.
•  Assist Plant Manager with the management of the changing manufacturing needs of the shop.
•  Present a professional company appearance.
•  Maintain current knowledge of and remain compliant with current NPCA, GDOT, company, and other regulations.
•  Perform all activities in a safe manner.
•  Other duties and responsibilities may be required as needed.

Requirements

 Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Prior experience in concrete industry.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
• Ability to operate tools required to complete construction projects.
• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and kneel as required to construct forms.
