Knickerbocker Group Inc is Hiring a Senior Interior Designer Near Portland, ME

Knickerbocker Group is seeking a senior level Interior Designer to develop design solutions including architectural concepts for interior projects. This individual will serve as the project lead for assigned projects and oversee the work of other project team designers. The ideal candidate is creative and enjoys working in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating and coordinating construction documents.
  • Participating in the selection and preparation of proposals for the procurement of furniture, furnishings, and decorative lighting.
  • Researching and selecting interior materials and finishes.
  • Researching and selecting architectural lighting and plumbing fixtures.
  • Selecting and coordinating appliances and other specialty equipment
  • Developing presentation materials including concepts and 3D renderings
  • Collaborating with Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Construction teams as well as any outside consultants such as MEP, and Structural consultants
  • Interfacing directly with clients and capturing client decisions

The ideal candidate:

  • has advanced project management skills
  • demonstrates strong organization and time management skills
  • has excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • interacts harmoniously and effectively with others
  • provides excellent customer service at all times

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in residential interior design
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction management
  • Technical proficiencies:
    • Microsoft Office including PowerPoint required
    • Adobe Photoshop required
    • Revit required
    • AutoCAD preferred
    • Experience with Design Manager preferred
