Maine Eye Center is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join the PACU team, and to be based in the Marginal Way, Portland, Maine location.

Requirements of the PACU RN:

• Graduated from an accredited Nursing Program 
• Active Maine RN license required 
• 2 years of nursing experience required; prior experience as a PACU, ICU, or ER nurse preferred 
• Demonstrated knowledge of medications used by the surgeon and anesthesiologist, including preparing and dispensing narcotics 
• BLS required; ACLS certification required within six months 

• Pay: Minimum of $30/hour and up. New hires are eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus after 90 days of employment.

• Provides intensive observation and treatment to patients who have undergone anesthesia 
• Provides medical and emotional support for patients post anesthesia 
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public for patient safety 
• Reports and troubleshoots all broken or defective supplies or equipment 
• Communicates professionally with internal and external contacts
