The Service Technician (Mechanic) is responsible for adjusting, repairing, or overhauling farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, bailers, and lawn and garden equipment along with recreation and construction equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, power tools, grinders, or saws.
  • Record details of repairs made and parts used.
  • Maintains preventative maintenance program for all equipment. Identify and record all preventative maintenance requirements and document all actions in accordance with brand standards.
  • Assures all equipment and functions comply with safety requirements. Complies with all safety rules and practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Agricultural Mechanization, or equivalent preferred, relevant experience may be substituted. 
  • Master Technician certification required and maintained.
  • 5 years’ experience in diesel technology, small engine repair, and/or agricultural implementation preferred.
  • Forklift Operator Certification required.
