Assumes the responsibility for providing professional care to a designated patient population.

• Directs patient care according to medical center policies/procedures and accepted standard of practice and care.
• Conducts patient assessments, including history and physical.
• Administers and records prescribed medications, treatments, and procedures.
• Assists the medical staff with examinations, treatments, special tests, and procedures.
• Participates in unit activities such as answering phones, EMS radio communication, environmental tasks, or any other assigned duties.
• Conducts shift reports.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum one year RN experience preferred.
• Current MS RN license and CPR certification required.
• Current ACLS & PALS certifications or must obtain within one year of employment.
• Current TNCC certification or must obtain within 18 months of employment in the Emergency Department.
• Fully Vaccinated COVID-19 status preferred.
• Documentation of CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training preferred at hire or must obtain within one year of employment.
• Able to read and write the English language.
• Demonstrates proficiency of skills per checklist.
• Must pass a written pharmacology exam.
• Able to perform considerable standing, walking, and lifting.
• Maintains good physical and emotional health.
• Demonstrates ability and cooperation in rotation of shift and/or duty areas.
• Promotes harmonious inter- and intra-departmental relationships.
