Position: Hyperbaric Tech (Non-Certified or Certified) / Hyperbaric Center
Hours/Shift: Full Time/Days
Key Responsibilities:
The Hyperbaric Technologist assumes responsibility and accountability for patients within a designated time frame within the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center.
Hyperbaric Technologist (Non-Certified)
The Hyperbaric Technician is a credential eligible clinician, who possess specialized education and clinical experience in Hyperbaric Medicine and demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise.Qualifying Pathways per the National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical Technology1. Non-Certified Minimum Requirements:
Certified Minimum Requirements:
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as a Certified Hyperbaric Technician providing hyperbaric treatment in a monoplace and/or multi-place HB O setting. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification/Licensure: • BLS through American Heart Association. • Current credential as Certified Hyperbaric Technologist as recognized by The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, in good standing.
Skills/Knowledge: The Certified Hyperbaric Technician is a credential eligible clinician, who possess specialized education and clinical experience in Hyperbaric Medicine and demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise. Ability to work independently and as a member of a healthcare team. Must possess professional verbal and written communication skills, be able to handle multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure Must demonstrate knowledge of the physiologic effects of hyperbaric oxygen, risks and benefits, and desired outcome of therapy. Must possess and demonstrate the ability to safely operate the monoplace hyperbaric chamber systems and adjunctive life support and patient monitoring equipment.
Preferences:
One year experience in an acute care hospital environment or one year experience as a military or commercial hyperbaric tech. • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in any related healthcare profession • Formal training/education in hyperbaric technology • ACLS through American Heart Association
