Who You Are:

As a Senior Leader, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) directs all daily Human Resources operations and special projects as needed to create an environment that fosters competency, self-development and continued learning to support KHI’s mission and vision. The CHRO ensures that the Human Resources staff provide a high quality, effective and responsive service to employees and applicants. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and at least five years' management experience preferrably in Healthcare and Human Resources. 

Responsibilities

The CHRO:

Oversees the delivery of services by the Human Resources Department and the development, implementationand monitoring of Human Resources policies and procedures throughout the hospital.

Develops and recommends hospital philosophy, policies, and procedures in regard to Human Resourcesfunctions. Ensures that Human Resources policies and procedures are communicated and followed in aconsistent manner.

Assists in the development of a strategic plan that supports the hospital’s mission, vision, and corporateobjectives. The plan places emphasis on goals and objectives for the upcoming year and focuses on newservices, improved services, employee and medical staff development, and capital equipment needs. Theplan is updated annually.

Ensures that Human Resources functions/services and other reporting services meet federal, state, DNV, andother legal/regulatory/accreditation requirements.

Directs the recruitment of employees through effective advertising techniques, as well as appropriateinterviewing and hiring practices.

Develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedures which will encourage the retention ofemployees at or below industry norms. This includes the monitoring of turnover rates, conducting exitinterviews, maintaining consistent disciplinary and termination practices, etc.

Develops, recommends, implements, and maintains a compensation and benefits system which supports thehospital’s recruitment and retention of qualified employees.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Master’s in healthcare, business management, or similarly related field preferredCertifications: SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR, and/or CHHR preferred

Experience: Five year’s management experience required

Hospital and Human Resources experience preferred

Skills: Proven ability to effectively manage people; ability to exercise mature and sound judgment in theimplementation and communication of hospital human resources programs and policies; effectiveinterpersonal, public speaking and writing skills; ability to analyze and interpret data and report concise,accurate reports; knowledge of current laws relating to human resources issues; basic computer skills.
