Our client, an A-Rated Insurance Carrier, is seeking to add a Senior Construction Defect Claims Specialist. This person would be responsible for directly handling moderate to complex construction defect claims, with a primary focus on subcontractors Responsibilities of this position include coverage analysis, risk transfer, investigation, evaluation, negotiation and disposition of assigned claims, including tenders from alleged additional insureds and co-carriers.

• Possess strong litigation management skills to aggressively manage litigation activities, budgets and claim outcomes while considering the overall impact to the customer and company.
• Effectively evaluate and identify coverage issues for named insureds and alleged additional insureds facing claims for construction defects
• Perform coverage, liability, and damage analysis on all claim's assignments.
• Investigate allegations, determine facts based on evidence and interviews.
• Draft disclaimers and reservation of rights letters when coverage issues arise
• insured and for carriers of subcontractors with contractual indemnity and additional insured obligations.

Requirements:

• 5 - 10 years of Commercial Construction Defect claims experience.
• 5 years of Construction Defect experience while working for an Insurance Carrier and/or TPA.
• Must hold an active adjuster's license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the capability to write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees and handle litigations and negotiations.
• Bachelor's Degree strongly desired
