Overview

Kimley-Horn's San Diego, California (CA) office is currently seeking a Transportation Planner with 8 years of experience to join our Transit team. This is an in-office position and not remote.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the production and delivery of transit design projects, with a particular focus on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects.
• Assist in corridor concept development, public outreach, and transit evaluation activities.
• Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns or questions.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Balance priorities among multiple projects to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) license, or ability to obtain within one year.
• Minimum of 4 years of transit-focused engineering experience.
• Experience in communicating and working with clients.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects.
