Kimley-Horn is Hiring a Transportation Planner Near Saint Paul, MN

Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Transportation Planner with 2 years of experience to join our growing Multimodal Transportation Planning Practice in St. Paul MN.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transportation tasks and projects including: transportation mobility plans; multimodal corridor analyses; feasibility studies; bicycle, pedestrian and trail studies; complete streets studies; master plans; long range transportation plans; project prioritization processes; cost feasible plans; strategic and policy plans; and public engagement processes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring a strong team-orientation and desire to contribute to the growth of the Multimodal Transportation Planning Practice through effective service to clients such as the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT), metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), and local governments. Desired experience, skills and abilities include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Transportation, Urban and Regional Planning, or related field
  • 2 or more years of transportation planning experience
  • Experience with preparation and or review of transportation plans, studies, and processes
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable to make presentations in wide range of settings including client meetings, public workshops, and in front of elected officials
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and balance priorities among multiple projects and project managers
  • Possesses sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to analyze datasets and summarize data visually
  • Skilled in project management
  • Experience with GIS, Adobe Suite, and/or Synchro desirable
  • AICP certification or pursuing certification is desirable
  • Service to clients may occasionally require overnight travel.
