Kimley-Horn is Hiring a Traffic Engineer Near Oakland, CA

Overview

Kimley-Horn has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated Traffic Engineer to join our ITS practice in Oakland, CA. This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and will work on transportation planning, traffic engineering and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects for some of the most notable, high profile and complex projects in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of traffic operations analyses, safety analyses, traffic signal coordination and timing, traffic signal design, transportation planning studies, multimodal transportation planning and design, parking analyses, ITS planning and design and other transportation projects
  • Present technical findings at client meetings and public hearings
  • Operate with integrity and sound business principles
  • Meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Identifying and tracking leads
  • Making presentations, writing proposals and scopes of work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
  • Licensed P.E. (or ability to obtain within one year)
  • 4 years of Transportation planning, and traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design experience
  • Proficiency in Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Synchro, Vissim, Sidra and/or GIS
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment, and balance priorities among multiple projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
