Interested candidates must have experience in conducting wetland delineations, stream assessments, ecological surveys and habitat evaluations, as well as experience preparing wetland permit applications. The selected candidate will support a variety of environmental, transportation, roadway design, and land development design projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of geological and biological sciences, water quality regulatory programs, wetlands identification including knowledge of local botany and soil science, and experience in chemistry, ecology, biology, geology, water resources, geographic information systems (GIS) and environmental sciences.

Position Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Environmental Science, Botany, Biology, Ecology, or comparable Natural Resources degree
  • Four or more years of relevant experience
  • Ability to direct and conduct fieldwork for wetland, watercourse, and waterbody delineations and other ecological field surveys
  • Implement field data collection efforts, processing, evaluation, and presentation
  • Conduct habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species 
  • Prepare permit applications for projects affecting wetlands and waterbodies
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and on a team

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using Trimble GPS units
