Kimley-Horn, one of FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is seeking a motivated Transit Engineer with 2 years of experience to join our Baltimore, Maryland team!
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit and rail projects with a particular focus on, but not limited to Commuter Rail, Heavy Rail Transit (HRT), and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects. Various tasks may include concept development, final design, schedule development, and cost estimating. This role will require a high degree of multi-disciplinary coordination. Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.
Qualifications
- An ABET Accredited BS or MS degree in the field of Civil Engineering
- EIT Certification (or ability to obtain within six months)
- Self-motivated team player
- 2 years of transit-focused engineering experience including:
- Transit corridor design experience with a focus on (but not limited to) rail modes
- Track, guideway, and facility design
- Applicable Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and/or bus facility design experience encouraged
- Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates
- High level of proficiency with Bentley MicroStation, including InRoads
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience communicating and working with clients
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
- Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects
