POSITION: Civil Engineer
JOB DUTIES:
Review construction plans, interpret codes and regulations, and design site layouts for planning, surveying, engineering and consulting purposes. Develop detailed site layouts and grading, drainage and storm-water management designs, utility designs and erosion and sediment control designs. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards. Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications. Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades, or elevations to guide construction. Work through codes and regulations, interpret plans and obtain permitting for land disturbance. Direct civil engineering activities, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and other governmental regulations. Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. Provide research, coordination, project management, staff management, client communication, cost estimating, preparation of bid packages and technical specifications. Utilize civil engineering concept, tools and technologies such as hydrology modeling programs, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. This position requires 10% domestic travel.
HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

REQUIREMENTSMAIN EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field of study and four (4) years of experience as a Civil Engineer or related role.
