The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are activity engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.

1.To prepare a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean and appealing which permits the children to grow and to explore. Also meeting all NYS OCFS licensing requirements and Kidz Zone Child Care Policy and Procedures.

2.To interact with the children because they learn best when exposed to and engaged in high-quality environments, interactions, and relationships.

3.To prepare weekly plans based on Creative Curriculum framework. Lesson plans must be submitted weekly to Education coordinator for review.

4.To use appropriate and positive discipline that is consistent per the OCFS plan for behavior management.

5.To maintain open communication with parents on a daily basis, making each family feel at ease and at home at the Center greeting them each day at arrival and pick up.

6.To oversee record keeping i.e. attendance, daily health checks.

7.To develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the classroom and Center.

8.To attend all scheduled staff meetings, in-services and Center events. During the first six months of employment, you must receive 15 hours of training to remain employed at the Center. You must accumulate at least 30 hours every two years after that.

9.Maintain current certification in Infant/ Child CPR and First Aid.

10.To share in all classroom - cleaning responsibilities on an equitable basis which includes over all Center cleaning.

11.Keep open communication with administration.

12.And any other tasks not listed that may be asked of you by administrations

1.HIgh School Diploma or its equivalent and some experience with children

2.Depenability. Must be able to work Monday thru Friday

3.Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children

4.Evidence of enough security and judgement to handle crisis situations

5.Evidaence of emotional maturity and stability

6.Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls. talk to hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl

7.Able to pick up and carry at least 40 pounds

8.Must clear full background check and pass health screening
