Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

The Role:

OT Aspekt & Chiro PLLC is seeking Occupational Therapy Assistants to provide Home Based Therapy sessions to children with special needs in the NYC (Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island) area. Per Diem, Part-Time and Full-Time Schedules are available (subject to applicant availability). We offer highly competitive rates.

We are looking for a skilled, licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide quality care and direct services to children from birth to age 3. Under the direction of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, you will conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients, develop treatment plans, and assess the home environments of the children.

COTA Responsibilities:

• Screen, identify, assess, diagnose, treat, and provide follow-up services for children with developmental delays and/or disabilities.
• Provide adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance.
• Determine the appropriateness of the patient’s response to treatment and consult with a licensed occupational therapist concerning modifications to the plan of care.
• Work in diverse settings such as client homes, family daycare homes, daycare centers, or other community settings
• Identify patient/family needs for other services and refers accordingly.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines
• Duties as assigned by Supervisor/Administration as it pertains to your position
• Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director/Administration

COTA Requirements:

• Completed an associate's degree in Occupational Therapy
• NYS Occupational Therapy Assistant License
• Must be comfortable providing services in both home and community-based settings
• Proficiency with computers, especially with patient and healthcare databases (EMR)
• At least six months to a year of Early Intervention Experience (Preferred)
