Summary of Position:

The Financial Planning Analyst role in the Financial Planning department is responsible for working directly with the Financial Planning team in an effort to support the creation of financial plans. Critical thinking is important in this role as the analyst is responsible for analyzing data to enter specific client information into the planning software.

The ability to analyze client information such as paystubs, liability statements, investment and insurance statements is critical to our team’s success. The planning team member is required to review and document initial recommendations for financial planning deliverables.

The Financial Planning Analyst will spend his or her day interacting with internal members of the department and clients to assist in the overall financial planning process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for receipt of data from clients and entry into appropriate Financial Planning team tools.
  • Ability to use and manipulate planning software tools within the role description and the key competencies.
  • Responsible for creation of reports needed to support data entry.
  • Maintains tracking items and calendars for department process.
  • Maintains department documents, including investment lists and client data.
  • Ability to look for and communicate client opportunities to/with financial advisors.
  • Responsible for learning investment products and solutions in an effort to provide additional value in these areas.
  • Responsible for corresponding with clients on missing data or delivery of documents.
  • Support the Financial Planning team in all areas, upon request.
  • Represent the firm with clients, investors, and business partners.

Education and Other Designations:

  • College degree or higher
  • 1-3 years of similar experience
  • Already have or be able to study for and pass exams for federal and state licenses and registrations for securities, including Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance licenses

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This job operates in a clerical office setting.
  • This position also has the option to work remotely, so no on-site work is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

The Financial Planning Analyst is a full-time, hourly position.

This position has a hybrid structure of half time in office (Troy, MI) and half time remote. This position also has the option to work remotely, so no on-site work is required.

This is a full-time position with the following daily hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-4:30pm (ET)
  • Friday: 8:00am-2:30pm (ET)
