Job Details Job Location High School - Orange, CA Position Type Part-time (less than 21 hrs/week) Temp Education Level High School Travel Percentage Negligible Job Shift Any Job Category Education Description POSITION SUMMARY Reporting directly to the Technical Director, the Theater Technician I position is responsible for supplemental labor assisting to day upkeep of the Nechita Center as well as live production support of shows and Daily Gathering. This position is also responsible for assisting with any needed day-to-day chapel activities and small-scale events around campus Reports to : Nechita Technical Director Supervises : None ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Applies to all in-house performances, events, appraisals, and assessment activities as well as a small number of external engagements as required
Assist with setting up performances/events
Set up and operate lighting, sound, and multimedia equipment under supervision
Provide technical support for the school's daily gathering needs
Assist during production weeks to ensure rehearsals run smoothly
Assist during annual fundraiser events to ensure rehearsals run smoothly
General Maintenance
Provide maintenance support and assist with upkeep for all relevant technical equipment, machines, furniture, and fixtures
Ensure all equipment is stored safely and is accessible to others when absent
Health & Safety
Ensure all health and safety requirements are met for the use of the performance spaces
Assist in safety checks of all technical equipment, machines, furniture, fixtures, and fittings
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
All other duties as assigned

Cleared Background/Fingerprint check
Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
Cleared TB assessment
Completion of Ministry Safe Training
Valid CA Driver's License
KEY COMPETENCIES Knowledge
Operations and proper techniques used in theater production; lighting, sound, and rigging
IT including projector set-up, Powerpoint/Pro-Presenter, and specific theatre industry operating and design programs
Lighting systems, control apparatus, equipment, and maintenance
Must be able to hang and circuit a lighting rig from a provided lighting plot
Must be able to set up and circuit a live band off of a provided audio plot
Digital audio and audio-visual equipment and its use with all live, recorded, and play-back techniques
Basic Stage Carpentry and working experience in scenic design and construction
Principles and safe practices of theater stage rigging
Theater pre-performance, performance, and post-performance activities
Skills and Abilities
Work with enthusiasm when advising young people in technical theatre and production
Must be able to safely operate a scissor lift and single-man lift
Must be able to have problem-solving skills and be able to work in high-pressure environments
Meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
Confidently and safely handle the heavy lifting of theatre equipment
Must be able to competently enforce safety procedures when supervising and/or assisting students and other technicians
Work flexible hours including evenings and some weekends
Adapt to various types of events and the technical requirements of each including but not limited to: musicals, plays, vocal concerts, instrumental concerts, conferences, dance concerts, meetings, banquets
Utilize standard office equipment including computers and related software applications
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Implement health and safety requirements and risk assessments
Proven listening and interpersonal skills
Proven verbal and written communication skills

Ability to organize and prioritize workload and multi-task
