ARE YOU READY TO BE A PART OF A GROWING TEAM AND SHARE THE PASSION FOR WHAT YOU DO?Vision Health has an immediate opening for an Optometric Technician who is highly motivated and detail oriented. The role is primary responsible for assisting the Optometrist in patient care. We are willing to train!RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the guidance of the optometrist or location manager, assist with activities including but not limited to the following:Pre-screen patients before they see the optometrist, including the administration of diagnostic testsGather patient’s medical historyCommunicating with doctors, staff, and patientsAnswer phone calls, greet patients and schedule appointmentsEducate patients on their insurance coverage and vision benefitsTrain patients on proper contact lens use and careObtain insurance authorizations and verification of benefitsAccurately post charges for exam fees, co-pays, and products soldAssist other members of the team as needed to reach individual and team goalsAccurately and thoroughly document optometry exams and procedures as they are being performed by the doctor.List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the doctor.Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delaysOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong multi-tasking and time management skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to do basic mathTeam player with good interpersonal and listening skillsPassion for self-improvement and continuing educationMust be flexible to accommodate schedule change(s) on short notice to fulfill business needsPrevious experience as an Optometric Technician is preferred, but not requiredPrevious experience with electronic medical records preferred, but not required1 years’ experience in optical/optometry industry preferred, but not requiredWe offer a competitive salary and benefits, 401K and a generous PTO plan.
