Assistant Parts Manager Job Summary:
Assist parts manager in running a profitable and efficient parts department. Assist in all areas of the parts department including but not limited to the following. Manage inventory levels; create training programs, work with inside sales teams to grow retail sales.
Assistant Parts Manager​​​​​​​ Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for assisting, leading, and coaching counter sales team as well as scheduling breaks, lunches and overtime to increase efficiency and sales. 
2. Assist in hiring, training, and monitoring performance of parts counter sales team.
3. Ensure training programs are up to date. 
4. Monitor and maintain WIP reports for counter sales tickets. 
5. Assist in meetings with parts department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operation.
6. Assist with investigating and monitoring inventory transactions for inventory accuracy. 
7. Work with the Service Manager & other department personnel to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
8. Will be required to assist in physical inventory & prep work. 
Assistant Parts Manager​​​​​​​ Qualifications:
High school diploma, or equivalent. Minimum two years of successful experience in a supervisory position within the heavy-duty parts industry. Must have strong knowledge and understanding of parts and warehouse operations. Ability to analyze, identify and apply solutions to improve and optimize processes. Strong organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to positively and proactively handle customer concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to help build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers. High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheet software and Intranet software.
Working Conditions:
This position involves both sedentary and physically demanding. For part of the shift, s/he will work at a desk in an office setting, doing paperwork, filing, and key entry on a computer video monitor. For part of the shift, s/he will climb stairs, climb in and out of vehicles, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees and customers. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes and a variety of other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
