This position will work with the marketing team, business support functions, and operations leaders to tell the Kennedy Jenks story.  

This position is designed for an excellent communicator who loves telling stories through business communications, who can boil down complicated messages into meaningful concepts that appeal to a variety of audiences, and who is experienced in the development and execution of strategic communications plans.

Our ideal candidate is someone who:  

  • Can quickly distill complex, technical topics into digestible information with broad appeal
  • Has experience writing copy of all types (from captions to press releases, intranet stories to emails)
  • Stays on top of trends in communication
  • Can operate independently, working cross-functionally on a virtual team
  • Has some background in coordinating in-person, virtual, and hybrid events and meetings to support internal all-hands and other meetings
  • Is detail-oriented and collaborative, comfortable working across all levels of the organization
  • Loves making metrics-driven decisions

Responsibilities: 

The Communications Specialist will work with cross-functional teams to:  

  • Lead and directly contribute to the planning and execution of strategic communications plan. 
  • Research, develop, write, and publish newsworthy content for internal and external sharing in a variety of digital formats.
  • Manage content and logistics for internal virtual or hybrid meetings.
  • Manage weekly all-staff newsletter and other newsworthy intranet content.
  • Storyboard, script, and develop content for multimedia content, such as videos and podcasts. 
  • Review, revise, and edit communications drafted by internal stakeholders and makes recommendations to ensure messaging is consistent with company strategy and culture. 
  • Work closely with the marketing and graphics teams to develop stunning multi-media and graphics.
  • Leverage analytics and reports to determine effectiveness, seeking continual improvements of marketing and communication initiatives.
  • Contribute to improvement in communication processes and workflow.

Requirements: 

  • 4-6 years of experience creating internal and external content  
  • Excellent writing, creative skills (portfolio required); journalistic writing skills a plus 
  • Excellent planning skills  
  • Prior experience in in-person, hybrid, and virtual event/meeting planning (including logistics and execution)  
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Stream, and Teams 
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite 
  • Demonstrated success in working on projects with remote team members  

This role can be REMOTE or hybrid if near a KJ office; and is open to United States-based candidates who are authorized to work in the US. #remote

Salary Range is anticipated to be $50,000-$75,000 and may vary depending upon skills and experience.
