KENCREST is Hiring an Assistive Technology Specialist Near Blue Bell, PA

Our Assistive Technology Specialist serves as a resource in the area of assistive technology to staff and consumers. This position is responsible for the coordination of assessments, training, installation, and ongoing coaching directly related to the use of mobile supports and assistive devices. Some Essential Functions of Position: • Performs all aspects of assistive technology assessments and recommends technology solutions to support identified outcomes. • Coordinates the purchase and identifies the funding streams of appropriate assistive technology equipment and materials. • Develops technology implementation plans and trains consumers and staff on the integration and use of assistive technologies. • Maintains data on key progress indicators for referral management and service delivery. • Manages web portals supporting remote and mobile technologies. • Responds to requests for assistive technology technical support and coordinates regularly with IT to troubleshoot assistive technology issues to ensure effective daily operation of assistive technology hardware and software. • Regularly reviews websites, literature and other sources of information on assistive technology and maintains an internal database of appropriate information. • Willingness to obtain and/or maintain Tech First Shift Enabling Technology Integration Specialist Credential and RESNA Assistive Technology Professional Certification. This role is a mobile role with expected travel to the client homes for meetings, assessments, installations, and trainings within the region; travel can amount to a 70/30 split during a given week. When not traveling role will be Work from Home or in-office if so inclined. Standard Monday through Friday business hours, with possible on call expectations for emergency program needs.Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in related human services field and at least five (5) years of experience supporting individuals with IDD and Autism or a Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field with 8-10 years of experience supporting individuals with IDD and Autism. • A candidate holding one of the following credentials is preferred: RESNA Assistive Technology Professional Certification, Assistive Technology Specialist Credential, Tech First Shift Enabling Technology Integration Specialist Credential. • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.• Valid driver’s license. • Clear criminal records and child abuse check in accordance with state requirements.• Experienced computer skills, including Microsoft office, familiarity with iOS and Android operating systems, knowledge of a range of assistive technologies including smart home technologies.
