Ken Health is Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (Risk Management/Staff Education & Development) Near West Babylon, NY

Berkshire Nursing & Rehabilitation centeris committed to improving our patients' quality of life & autonomy through innovative rehabilitative services, and an exceptional level of client-centered care and attention. We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing to oversee Risk Management and Staff Development/Education along with the total care and safety of all residents and employees during his/her tour of duty. The ADON is responsible for monitoring nursing staff, nursing activities, and patient care, as well as ensuring nursing activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the Nursing Department.
  • Oversee risk management impacting on the overall risk reduction and quality improvement for the facility.
  • Oversee staff development and staff education: Coordinate all in-services, orientation, internship programs, annual calendar of in-servicing topics, etc.
  • Help to hire, train, teach, and monitor nursing staff and other support staff activities.
  • In the absence of the DNS, you will oversee the nursing department ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
  • Identify the needs, problems and progress of nursing services and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain quality care standards and policy and procedures across the department.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care and address any complaints.
  • Carry out, coordinate and manage administrative functions in areas or programs related to nursing services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator and Director of Nursing.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State RN License.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills as well as a strong focus for top notch resident care.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department.
  • Previous ADON, RN Supervisor, Risk Management and or Staff Development/Education experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
