The job

We are building a new product line, focused on helping big industries decrease their emissions, and we are looking for a senior-level Product Manager to lead this project. The ideal candidate would come in with experience and understanding about upstream oil & gas production process, including but not limited to drilling, completions and production processes. In this role the person will work closely with the customers to devise digital applications. The position reports to the Director of Product and will be a key part of our Product Team. The ideal candidate must be able to add fracking, manufacturing or industrial automation / controls domain knowledge to the team but also understand and apply best Product Management practices. A key responsibility will be to run large programs with a preferred industry partner, who we have already onboarded. The candidate would be expected to drive integration of Kelvin and partner products as well as discover, validate and build new solutions in the fracking automation space. In other words, we are looking for someone who feels comfortable with their industry expertise who will be able to bring that to our small but mighty Product Team. This person will be able to get into the weeds of the product and technology architecture but will also be comfortable writing user stories as they are interacting with customers and market thought leaders to develop a deep understanding about the product-market needs.

You will be the right fit if you:

  • Understand and have Oil & Gas industry experience and / or expertise in fracking, industrial automation, process control, IoT or similar space.
  • Have experience or exposure to Completions, Fracking completions, Production etc.
  • Have a track record as a Product Manager for a B2B SaaS company.
  • Understand the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
  • Are deeply collaborative since you will be interacting daily with engineers, designers, customers and SMEs.
  • Possess the ability to translate complex relationships and solutions into understandable and visual representations and strategies, as well as present these both internally and externally.

At Kelvin, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Own a key industry partnership as a Product and technology representative, and drive product development to meet business objectives
  • Be the product champion internally and externally, in order to drive new product capabilities to meet business objectives
  • Be the product expert and evangelist, participate in customer meetings, marketing activities 
  • Perform market, competitor, and product research. Synthesize research to set a strategic direction and priority for the product portfolio.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to gather product feedback and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with product and corporate marketing to develop messaging, collateral, and enablement materials.
  • Present with authority at industry conferences, panels, and customers and internal events.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate with customers and build a trusted advisor relationship.
  • Build best practices and processes for the product management team that will enable Kelvin to deliver products in a consistent fashion

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Expertise & industry experience in Oil & Gas, fracking completions, or production completions; nice to have industrial automation, IoT platforms, and/or control systems
  • Strong understanding about operations and workflows in the Oil & Gas, manufacturing and other related industrial verticals.
  • 4-6 years of experience in product management; especially with launching multiple SaaS / PaaS products. 
  • Experience in agile software lifecycle management in a cloud environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Edge to Cloud software stack, Cloud / Hybrid deployment models, [including, but not limited to aspects of modern technology architecture components like Kubernetes, Docker / Containerized services, etc.].
  • Experience and examples of leading successful product definition and releases on multiple occasions.

Preferred to have:

  • Experience in designing and launching experiments to validate market or product capabilities.
  • Experience in collaborating with design to rapidly iterate on new product capabilities.
  • Worked in an international team.
  • Hands-on experience in launching Analytics / ML / Autonomous control applications.
  • Solid experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), Aha!, Github to deliver products / services.
  • Advanced degree such as a Master’s in Business Administration, focus on Product Management or relevant subject areas. 
  • Product Management Certification
