Keller Associates is Hiring a Construction Inspector Near Coeur d'Alene, ID

We’re looking for can-do people who don’t stand on ceremony, who aren’t thrown off by hard work, and who believe engineering is a team sport. If that’s you, apply now for our Construction Inspector opportunity based in our Coeur d'Alene, ID office. 

An experienced Construction Inspector is needed to team up with our engineers to observe and inspect construction projects ranging from roadway reconstruction to water and sewer infrastructure. An ideal candidate has a solid understanding of construction with a minimum 5 years of experience. They possess a willingness to undertake roles as needed, learn new skills and tools, and be open to travel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, observe, and help ensure a construction project is constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications
  • Maintain accurate daily records of the work (labor, equipment, materials, and quantities)
  • Identify contract changes and assist in preparation of change orders
  • Prepare field note records for progress payments
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and engineering staff
  • Coordinate required materials sampling and testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of construction including practices used and the equipment required on construction projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Teams)
  • Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience working on roadway, bridge, highway, and/or water/wastewater projects preferred
  • Clean driving record
  • Available to travel and work out of town for extended periods of time
  • Skilled in working independently and on a team
  • Successful organizational skills and ability to personally manage several projects
  • Decision-making skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers to solve complex problems
  • ITD inspector qualifications (IQPs) and/or WAQTC certifications preferred
