KEEN Footwear is Hiring an Inventory Control Lead Near Shepherdsville, KY

Job Title: Inventory Control Lead 
Reports to: Inventory Control Manager
Status: Full - Time, Non Exempt
Shift: 1st

General Summary:

Our Inventory Control Lead is a vital part of the KEEN Team. The position supports the entire Distribution Center (DC) with expertise on exception handling of orders, inbound exceptions and/or locations variances through utilization of KEEN Warehouse Management System (WMS). Inventory Control Lead will master and utilize location management tools such as slotting and inventory cycle counting to ensure location accuracy and integrity for all operational areas. A critical part of this job is to ensure the entire inventory team is trained and follows all inventory control SOPs and processes. The Inventory Control Lead will assist with special projects and is responsible for training our associates as well as tracking and logging all key reports and data needed to comply with external audit processes. Leads may have the opportunity, after training and development to advance and train in other areas and operations. Leads will give input on employee performance, safety and quality to their Operations Manager on a weekly basis. Leads will model KEEN values and act in accordance with KEEN’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an example to other employees by consistently demonstrating exemplary work habits that contribute to teamwork, productivity and efficiency.
  • Plans daily area staffing and assists in area start-up meetings
  • Works with multiple departments to balance workflow within DC.
  • Facilitates corrections made to orders, receipts and locations throughout building in KEEN WMS.
  • Facilitates cycle counts and review and address error rates.
  • Ensures associates are meeting requirements for different tasks, including lifting, pulling and filling orders using technology tools such as RF scanning equipment.
  • Identifies and reports problems and supports solutions to maintain excellent service and quality.
  • Performs tracking of associates’ attendance and performance.
  • Supports DC operations through building-wide housekeeping maintenance, including cardboard and waste removal.
  • Builds rapport with other departments to ensure correct order flow, service levels and quality levels are maintained.
  • Effectively leads and staffs powered material handling equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ensures adequate maintenance of equipment and supplies; requests service and replenishment as appropriate.
  • Moves labor to balance workload within the DC.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment in a manner that is consistent with KEEN values and expectations; with the bottom line expectation of providing outstanding service to KEEN retail partners and fans.
  • Shows respect for the KEEN brand and teammates
  • On time and reliable; meets or exceeds attendance requirements.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to positively lead and staff associate team members to accomplish daily, weekly and monthly production goals.
  • The ability to frequently lift and shift boxes weighing an average of 30 to 40 pounds with a maximum of 65 pounds throughout a full shift of work
  • The ability to work in a standing or walking environment for 8-10 hour shifts
  • The ability to cross-train in other departments
  • The ability to comprehend and train associates in all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Must be self-motivated with a high sense of urgency, resourceful and adaptable
  • Must be able to work overtime with little notice and must be flexible with scheduling

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Willing and able to work extended shifts extra days as needed
  • May be required to work overtime
  • Must be able to read and take direction in English
  • Successful completion of 60-day training program
  • Must have prior experience in Inventory Control
  • 1 year of direct experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment
  • Proficient in WMI, SCI and Cognos
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience in cycle counts, slotting and pack out
