KCF Technologies is Hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern Near State College, PA

Where You Come In:

KCF Technologiesis seeking participants in many areas of study to contribute to our high-performing teams as part of the Future Innovators Internship Program . This 10-week, full-time paid program June 5 – August 11 will take place at our KCF Headquarters in-person, or remotely, depending on where home is for you and what your position is. With our work from home, work from anywhere policy, the choice of where to work is yours for most of our roles! 

Our home base is our headquarters in State College, PA, but you will find KCF Teammates spread across 26 different U.S. States with our flexible remote model. We give you the autonomy to define how and where you do your best work!

  • We will be evaluating applications from mid-September through early-November.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Hardware/Electrical Engineer Team in documentation, mechanical design, and part numbering tasks
  • Support Hardware/Electrical Engineer Team with prototype assembly, testing, pre-production steps, vendor sourcing, tool design and fabrication, and new hardware product release tasks
  • Collaborate with Hardware/Electrical Engineer Team in hands-on tasks; soldering molding, laser etching, etc.
  • Develop innovative solutions to diverse industrial machinery problems
  • Conceptualize and refine products that create breakthrough into new markets
  • Create power-efficient sensor designs that allow years of monitoring with a single battery
  • Collaborate with the mechanical design, manufacturing, and firmware teams
  • Perform validation of new designs and design changes to ensure we are providing a robust product
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and other KCF leadership staff

Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's Degree program in engineering or related field
  • Must be willing to work in-person in State College for the 10-week program
  • Interest in machine health or data analysis a plus
  • Familiarity with printed circuit board design tools (e.g. Altium Designer)
  • Experience with common electronics test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeters, power supplies)
  • Ability to do basic electronics assembly (soldering, wiring, etc.)
  • Demonstrates leadership in field of study, extra-curricular activities, or service organizations
  • Willingness to ask questions, take initiative and be resourceful and inventive
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization, customers, and stakeholders as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability present to executive level audiences
  • Proven ability to deliver creative solutions to complicated problems
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to start an assignment or project from scratch and drive to completion
