Job Summary:

The Surveyor will provide professional site auditing services to obtain and communicate the necessary technical data to Kayo Energy's Construction Review team for the preparation of project scope information needed to adequately propose a solar system design, as well as provide permit ready documents needed to facilitate the installation of solar systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Travel to project sites to obtain necessary information to complete technical design documents for a solar system

• Create detailed rooftop map layout for solar arrays including roof layout dimensions and all roof penetrations (pipes, vents etc.)

• Develop a positive relationship with customers to establish rapport and to gather facilities assessment data as needed

• Conduct a physical site audit using auditing tools including a tablet/phone with apps, measuring devices, and other related equipment

• Upload site audit documents as needed to coordinate with the design/engineering department to produce permit-ready documents within no later than midnight the day of Site Audit

• Follow Kayo Energy's Standard Operating Procedures for Site Audit to ensure a smooth handoff between departments

• Develop relationships with sales team, design professionals and subcontractors to support the business activities

• Gathers detailed structural data on multiple types of buildings

• Identifies issues on homes that may interfere with our installations

• Gathers all electrical data required by the company

• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• A minimum of three 2 years' experience in a discipline related to construction

• 2 years of Site Audit experience

• Solar installation experience is preferred

• Ability to understand, read, and comprehends contract documents, plans and written and verbal communication skills required in order to prepare site audit documents and conduct site audit meetings with customers

• Must be able to travel to different offices if needed

• Must be able to work different schedules that involve Mondays- Saturdays

• Must be able to follow all safety procedures required by the company

Physical demands and abilities:

• Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls

• Stand for long periods of time

• Walk or run for long periods of time

• Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles

• Lifting various types of ladders up to 32ft ladders

• Work on various roof types and heights which include but are not limited to steep roofs, metal roofs, comp shingle, tile, cal pac, etc

• Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl

• Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out

• Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm

• Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects

• Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects

• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness

• Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place

• Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired

• Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position

• React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet

• While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side

• Work in multiple weather conditions which include but are not limited to, wet weather, snow, extreme heat.
