Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities: 

  • Uphold exceptional customer service by leveraging administrative duties with retail floor responsibilities 
  • Monitor productivity and follow up with voice-mail, emails, etc. 
  • Process optical deposits and batches. 
  • Audit open vision insurance claims. 
  • Address patient concerns as needed. 
  • Foster a productive employee culture and leverage company resources to increase engagement and job satisfaction. 
  • Assist with ordering optical supplies based on current inventory. 

 Retail Floor Responsibilities: 

  • Accurately record measurements, fit, sell, and adjust eyewear as needed. 
  • Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and accurately describe the features and benefits of lenses, frames, and contact lenses. 
  • Explain eyewear prescription terminology to customers in simple terms. 
  • Process and submit eyewear orders to vision plan and/or central lab. 
  • Verify that finished eyewear meets optical standards and pass final inspection. 
  • Capture and place contact lens orders. 
  • Maintain and organize workspace, frame boards, and optical displays. 
  • Assist with spectacles troubleshooting. Neutralize lenses using the lensometer to determine changes in prescription. 
  • Assist with new hire training.

Qualifications

  • Experienced optician with 2 years of experience 
  • Candidates must be passionate about fashion, eye-wear, and the retail industry.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and excellent at multitasking. 
  • Able to project a professional, and friendly demeanor. 
  • Excited by a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. 
  • A self-sufficient employee with energy to spare. 
  • Able to remain calm and work well under pressure and be capable of handling a diverse set of responsibilities.
