Katzen Eye Group is searching for a patient focused Full Time Ophthalmic Technician for our Abingdon, Md. office with some travel to our Rosedale and Lutherville, Md. offices. Must be willing to work at least 1 Saturday approx. every 6 weeks. Our preferred Candidates would be Certified Ophthalmic Assistants or Technicians. However, we do have comprehensive clinical training program and would consider a candidate currently working in another medical specialty or in a customer service focused field with strong tenure in previous positions.

The Ophthalmic Technician will perform a range of duties which include preparing the patient to see Ophthalmologist and/or Optometrist and conduct preliminary exam and captures medical history. In addition, the preparation of examination and treatment rooms, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations, administering eye medications, cleaning, and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures may be required. Travel to other locations may also be necessary to support clinical needs.
