From your PASSION to ours

The Manager, HR will lead the HR activities for Karoun Dairies (both corporate office & warehouse in San Fernando, as well as the manufacturing plant in Turlock). This person will partner with the leadership team to build people capabilities that enable business results to be delivered. Contribute feedback to and follow HR practices and processes to serve corporate and plant management and employees. Set HR priorities. Facilitate completion of HR processes, including appraisals, compensation, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development. Process Payroll and administer Onboarding. Communicate with, engage, and recognize employees. Address employee issues. Interface regularly with the Corporate HR Team.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

· Provide HR leadership and guidance to assist management on HR priorities and items across both locations

· Serve as management and employee resource. Partner with managers to appraise, develop, communicate with, engage, compensate, and recognize employees.

· Address employee issues, including performance and discipline. Conduct investigations. Refer to employee handbook, clarifying policies.

· Manage Talent Acquisition directly, including job postings, employee referrals, and applicant selection. Assure strong new hire Onboarding and Orientation experience.

· Will serve as the main contact point for all HR matters for Karoun, will provide HR support and guidance to the Plant HR Manager in Turlock, CA. Will consolidate all HR topics for both locations.

· Manage Training Plan, facilitating local training.

· Generate HR systems reports to understand items such as labor costs and turnover, taking action where needed.

· Interface with department managers, ensuring job descriptions and career paths are established.

· Prepare budget files as required from controlling team.

· Facilitate employee engagement activities, ranging from events to follow up on culture survey results.

· Will act as local point person to conduct benefits Open Enrollment.

· Process Payroll directly working with the Shared Services HR payroll team.

· Interface regularly with Shared Services HR Team and other HR team members across the US businesses, and, where needed Legal, Compliance, and Safety.

· Travel and / or extended or off work hours may be required.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

· Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred; or equivalent experience to include a minimum of eight (8) years job related experience

Experience

· 8 years of progressive HR experience required

· Manufacturing experience preferred

· Experience in Food Industry preferred

Skills/Abilities

· An effective individual contributor, however, demonstrated leadership and “team player” skills; able to interact and lead at various levels within the organization.

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, skills

· Act swiftly and creatively in fast-paced environment with ever changing needs

· Maintain strict confidentiality.

Specialized Knowledge

· Demonstrated ability to work within HR systems, UKG, Paylocity, Alchemy, and SAP would be helpful

· Employment and labor law knowledge, with a focus on CA employment law

Professional Certification

PHR or SPHR certification would be helpful.
