Job Objective: The Counselor I position will assist individuals with various disaffiliations including but not limited to: addictions, including alcohol, drugs, gambling, chronic homelessness, etc. They complete counseling and spiritual interviews with beneficiaries, conduct counseling sessions, teach program related classes, develop and track the progress of rehabilitation plans, track progress of the work therapy component and administer drug tests. Maintaining relevant and real time case notes in the ServicePoint database is required, as well as adding all completed services that include but are not limited to spiritual counseling. The position requires either a minimum of 2 years’ experience in addictions, recovery or spiritual counseling and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in counseling or a related field is strongly preferred. The typical shift for this position will be 2nd shift from 11am-8pm. Some weekends and holidays may be required.
Counselor must demonstrate a comfort level in prayer and spiritual counseling that will
guide beneficiaries in the spiritual component of our program. Counseling must be intentionally “goal based” and must consists of spiritual support which will help individuals to develop and track recovery, spiritual and personal goals.
