What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Staff position at Kansas & Western MI Division?
Essential Responsibilities:
- Empty all garbage cans after each meal in dish room, dining room and kitchen.
- Wash all pots and pans as they accumulate.
- Keep dish room clean including walls
- Clean dishwashing rooms, sinks and counters after each meal.
- Responsible for the operation of the dishwasher. Fill in daily chart of wash and rinse temperatures.
- Scrape, stack and rinse all dishes. Rack up dishes and put through dishwasher.
- Return clean dishes and kitchen items to the proper storage areas.
- Clean dishwashing machine after each use.
- Sweep and mop dish room daily. Keep mop clean and in place.
- Help with unloading of supplies.
- Keep back porch area around the dumpsters clean and orderly.
- Clean oven racks at the direction of the cooks and or food service manager.
- Assist in preparing foods by performing general kitchen tasks.
- Cook, trim, portion, carve, bake, etc.
- Portion meats, vegetables, salads, breads, desserts, etc.
- Fry, boil, broil, roast, and steam meat, poultry and/or vegetables.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Desire to work in a camp kitchen/dining hall
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to learn to do tasks as assigned
- Preferably 18 years of age or older, but at least 15 years old.
- Christian exhibiting the principles of Christian living
