Kansas & Western MI Division is Hiring a Kitchen Staff Near Leonard, MI

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Empty all garbage cans after each meal in dish room, dining room and kitchen.
  • Wash all pots and pans as they accumulate.
  • Keep dish room clean including walls
  • Clean dishwashing rooms, sinks and counters after each meal.
  • Responsible for the operation of the dishwasher. Fill in daily chart of wash and rinse temperatures.
  • Scrape, stack and rinse all dishes. Rack up dishes and put through dishwasher.
  • Return clean dishes and kitchen items to the proper storage areas.
  • Clean dishwashing machine after each use.
  • Sweep and mop dish room daily. Keep mop clean and in place.
  • Help with unloading of supplies.
  • Keep back porch area around the dumpsters clean and orderly.
  • Clean oven racks at the direction of the cooks and or food service manager.
  • Assist in preparing foods by performing general kitchen tasks.
  • Cook, trim, portion, carve, bake, etc.
  • Portion meats, vegetables, salads, breads, desserts, etc.
  • Fry, boil, broil, roast, and steam meat, poultry and/or vegetables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Desire to work in a camp kitchen/dining hall
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to learn to do tasks as assigned
  • Preferably 18 years of age or older, but at least 15 years old.
  • Christian exhibiting the principles of Christian living
