Kansas Medical Center is Hiring an Office Manager (Clinic) - 6100 Near Derby, KS

Kansas Medical Center (KMC) is a fully physician owned 58 inpatient bed hospital that opened in 2006. Our mission is to provide patient centered care through the empowerment of physicians and other care givers enhanced by state of the art technology. We are committed to the welfare of the community and will join with other health care providers to responsibly allocate health care resources to meet the needs of our less fortunate citizens.
 
KMC offers services in a wide array of specialties for both inpatient and outpatient services. The main campus has:
• Six operating rooms
• Two procedure rooms
• Two Cath Labs
• Intermediate care for preoperative and postoperative patients
• Three inpatient nursing units: Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Intensive Care
• Outpatient services including: X-Ray, CT, MRI, PET, PT, Lab, and Cardiac Rehab
 
In addition to our main campus, KMC operates:
• Three Family Practice clinics located in Andover and Derby
• A Cardiology Clinic located in NE Wichita
• Multiple Cardiology Outreach Clinics throughout the state of Kansas
• A satellite Emergency Department located at 21st and Webb Road that offers X-Ray, CT, and Lab

Education/Training:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Master’s Degree preferred.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient medical clinic required.
Prior Management experience preferred.

Position Summary:
Assist providers in all aspects of patient flow while maintaining a high quality of patient care in a compassionate manner. Daily responsibilities may include: performing routine office procedures and testing, telephone messaging, scheduling, insurance authorizations, referrals, participating in and providing documentation of patient education and communicating effectively with others.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Builds strong positive communication with physicians and works as a team to enhance the success of the practice.
2. Develops strong inter-department teamwork to meet the needs of the patients and physicians and drive decision-making and other actions.
3. Identifies and implements opportunities to build employee morale and individual motivation.
4. Participates in budget creation and expense management.
5. Analyzes and staffs front office and back office staff to meet needs of health care professionals and patients efficiently and courteously.
6. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations.
7. Works across organization in assisting with area of expertise; i.e. nursing, employee health, medical records, quality assurance. Serves as role model for all staff.
8. Plans, evaluates, recommends and implements new initiatives when appropriate.
9. Selects and hires employees per established guidelines. Monitors, coaches, develops and evaluates performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards.
10. Responsible for assuring customer/patient service needs are met. Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues.
11. Plans and initiates process improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
12. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, employees, other managers, and physicians. Supports a positive image of KMC inside and outside the organization.
13. Responsible for OSHA and other regulatory training and compliance. Coordinates cleanliness, orderliness and safety of working environment.

5. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly relay and retain information to and from coworkers, doctors, patients, patients’ families, and the public in order to develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the community.
6. All KMC employees must be able to: work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment; demonstrate commitment to service, organizational values, and professionalism by demonstrating appropriate conduct and demeanor; interpret, follow, and apply organizational policies, guidelines, and procedures; follow safety procedures, policies, regulations, and take precautions to establish a safe and orderly environment; work well under pressure with a sense of urgency; and maintain confidentiality and discretion to remain in accordance with HIPAA regulations. This position includes a moderate to high risk of exposure to Hepatitis B.

Work Environment: 
This position operates in a typical temperature-controlled clinical environment. Work environment generally includes moderate risk of exposure to blood/ bodily fluids. Risk generally includes moderate risk of exposure to infectious disease. This position does include occupational risk of exposure to tuberculosis (Category 2).

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; occasionally required to sit for long periods of time; regularly required to stand for long periods of time; regularly required to use hands to handle, grasp, or feel objects, tools, and controls; regularly required to walk or use other means of mobility; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms above head and below waist; occasionally required to kneel, stoop, and crouch; and occasionally required to use push and pull motion. The employee must frequently be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. The employee is required, with or without corrective lenses, to have visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection; operation of machines; investigating and assessing; determining accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work; and to make general observations.
