Kansas City Mavericks is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Independence, MO

The Kansas City Mavericks, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist with the oversight of all financial activities for Kansas City’s professional hockey team. This position will report to the Director of Finance and will become part of a team of dedicated professionals in the fast-paced and exciting sports industry.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, reconciliation, and review of company’s financial records and general ledger in addition to various administrative tasks. This position requires familiarity of GAAP Regulations, extensive knowledge of basic accounting principles, and hands on experience using accounting financial applications.
Job Tasks & Essential Functions:
  • General ledger and trial balance maintenance and reconciliations
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable process
  • Assist with payroll related maintenance and functions
  • Assist annual budgeting process and departmental year-to-date reports
  • Assist with annual league financial project
  • Maintain daily team store retail reporting and assist with cash management
  • Reconcile credit card accounts and maintain accurate payment receipts
  • Reconcile weekly and monthly ticketing financial data to ensure accuracy
  • Daily box office reports and deposits
  • Assist ticket operations with sales commissions and other related tasks
  • Review game settlements and communicate discrepancies to building management
  • Work with Corporate Sales Department on processing and fulfilling sponsorship agreements
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations and in-game promotion activity
  • Supervise game day promotions and cash management
  • Assist with monthly financial statements supplied to corporate office
  • Form 1099 preparation and distribution
  • Assist with player/team financial and administrative tasks.
  • Data entry, filing, and other clerical tasks as needed
  • Support day-to-day office management, organization, and related tasks
  • Support Human Resources Department while adhering to HIPAA and other guidelines
  • Assist with Community Department and donation fulfillment

Employee acknowledges that all Confidential Materials are and continue to be Company’s property under all circumstances and for all purposes.
d. Except as may be required by applicable law, Employee will not disclose any of the terms or conditions of this Agreement to any other person or entity; provided, however, that Employee may reveal such terms and conditions to (1) Employee’s legal counsel and accountants, (2) any federal or state governmental body or agency that requests information about this Agreement, and (3) any court of competent jurisdiction.
